چکیده
Abstract Background In fish, minimally invasive blood sampling is widely used to monitor physiological stress with plasma biomarkers. As fish cells are nucleated, they might be a source potential new markers derived from ‘omics technologies. We modified the epiGBS (epiGenotyping By Sequencing) technique explore changes in genome-wide cytosine methylation red (RBCs) of challenged European sea bass ( Dicentrarchus labrax ), species studied both natural and farmed environments. Results retrieved 501,108,033 sequencing reads after trimming, mean mapping efficiency 73.0% (unique best hits). Minor RBC methylome appeared manifest challenge test family-effect was detected. Only fifty-seven differentially methylated cytosines (DMCs) close 51 distinct genes distributed on 17 24 linkage groups (LGs) were detected between RBCs pre- post-challenge individuals. Thirty-seven these previously reported as expressed brain zebrafish, most them involved coping differences. While further investigation remains necessary, few DMC-related associated Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor, protein that favors adaptation fear memory, appear relevant integrate centrally produced response RBCs. Conclusion Our protocol powerful analyze patterns D. evaluate impact using samples . This study first approximation identify epigenetic biomarkers exposure fish.

متن کاملGenetic investigation of swimbladder inflation anomalies in the European sea bass, Dicentrarchus labrax L.
Although the aetiology of swimbladder inflation anomalies in important aquaculture species such as European sea bass D. labrax is not fully determined, culture conditions are commonly suggested as main contributory factors. Little information is available on whether swimbladder inflation has a genetic basis for its expression too. In this work, 24 full-sibling sea bass families from a 4 dams × ...
متن کاملA microsatellite linkage map of the European sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax L.
A genetic linkage map of the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) was constructed from 174 microsatellite markers, including 145 new markers reported in this study. The mapping panel was derived from farmed sea bass from the North Adriatic Sea and consisted of a single family including both parents and 50 full-sib progeny (biparental diploids). A total of 162 microsatellites were mapped in ...
متن کاملSkin mucus proteome map of European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax).
Skin mucus is the first barrier of fish defence. Proteins from skin mucus of European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) were identified by 2DE followed by LC-MS/MS. From all the identified proteins in the proteome map, we focus on the proteins associated with several immune pathways in fish. Furthermore, the real-time PCR transcript levels in skin are shown. Proteins found include apolipoprotein ...
متن کاملα-MSH and melanocortin receptors at early ontogeny in European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax, L.)
Temporal patterns of whole-body α-MSH concentrations and of transcripts of melanocortin receptors during early development as well as the endocrine response (α-MSH, cortisol, MCR mRNAs) to stress at the end of the larval period were characterized in Dicentrarchus labrax. Immunohistochemistry showed α-MSH positive cells in the pituitary pars intermedia in all stages examined. As development proc...
